A little Graphic 45 lovin'......

I am a BIG fan of Graphic 45 so I was was quite excited when they told me they were going to feature my "Vintage Photos" project I did using Graphic 45 vintage-feel papers, a Maya Road 8x8 binder, and my photos! Check it out here! Graphic 45's papers are such a perfect compliment to my vintage photos! They have got some wonderful new products that just came out at CHA-W and I can't wait to get some for myself!! Have a great weekend!!!

Got Paper Heart Doilies??

 

I love paper heart doilies! They remind me of all the great homemade valentines cards I made as a kid. I just love the word doilies too!! Doilies, doilies, doilies, doesn't it just make you smile! Anyway, here is a garland I made using paper heart doilies, felt, Hambly transparencies, DMC floss and some ribbon.

 

First cut a piece of felt just a little bit bigger than your doily and stitch the edges! Do this for as many hearts as you want on your garland.

 

Cut some felt hearts to fit in the center of your heart doily and handstitch. I also handstitched the letters for LOVE on four different hearts.

   

Attach your felt hearts to the doily. I added a heart shaped piece of Hambly transparency to mine. Next, just adhere the heart as you desire on a piece of ribbon, tie some extra ribbon between hearts and viola....your paper heart doily garland!! Embellish to your hearts delight!!

Heart photo ornament (tutorial included)....

 

Since my Christmas photo ornament was such a hit I decided to whip up a Valentine's heart ornament to share! I used photos of my lovely daughter and the tutorial is included!

                

You can make this ornament with 2 photo strips or 1 photo strip and one piece of patterned paper. This ornament can be embellished however you would like and could be modified by making the strips longer and/or narrower. I plan on making a garland out of several of these hearts strung together! Here it is!

   

To make the garland: During step 4 after stapling, punch a hole 3/4 inch down from the staple line. Make your heart as in step 5 and then string your hearts! I haven't embellished my garland as much as I want here, but you get the picture!! Enjoy!

If you love collages....

Then you have to go here for some free templates. The best thing (besides being free!) is that they are easy to use and the possibilities are endless!! There are letter sized ones, 12x12, and now 4x6! You can turn them and resize them...and I am in love with them. I have one being published in Scrapbooks Etc. in February! I used the new 4x6 one for my Christmas card.

 

You can fill the template with photos, paper (digital and real), embellishments...I could go on and on! Seriously, you have to check it out and directions are there to help you too! I have PSE but they have them for PS too! This is a great way to make a quick and easy layout and it can be all digital or hybrid. How sweet is that!! Once you try it you will be hooked!!
