Christmas Luminary box!

 

Here is a little project I made using Maya Road's Secret box. First I painted the entire outside and inside of the box white. Next I took my Versamark and Ranger Heat Embossing Powder (in Holographic) to the entire outside of the box. Next I used Maya Road ribbon and sequin trimming along edges of box and the window of the box. Using evergreen looking pipecleaners I trimmed the edges of the box.

 

I also used Maya Road red blossoms and clear headed stick pins to create the front of the box. On the back of the box I used Maya Road ribbons to make the tree.

  Finally I used a piece of the Snowflake die cut sheet from Little Yellow Bicycle and placed in on the inside of the window. By placing a battery operated flicker candle from the Dollar Tree inside the box I now had a totally safe luminary to display in my home.I can envision three of these boxes with J-O-Y letters on each one to create a series!  Other materials used were metal snowflakes (draped on front of box) from Making Memories, bells from Hobby Lobby, and DMC floss to hold the bells and snowflakes. I tied the floss to either end of the box on my jewel topped stick pins from Maya Road. If your LSS doesn't carry Maya Road tell them to go here to begin ordering from this incredible company! Maya Road Christmas Tree Project

 

Here is a little tutorial on my Maya Road Christmas Tree: I used 4 pages from the triangle banner album from Maya Road, MR ribbon, trimming, blossoms, tin lids, clear jewels flower, sheer ribbon, and a large MR ribbon spool. First you will paint the edges of 3 triangle pieces and then cover with patterned paper. Punch holes in the bottom corners of these pages. Using the sheer ribbon tie these ends together. This will create the "tree" shape! (I made my ties meet on the inside of the tree)  Next, I used a good fast drying glue to glue the sides of the tree together. With the 4th triangle piece trim it to fit on the underside of the tree. Add your trims, blossoms, jewels and what ever embellishments you would like. Using the lid of a small tin I printed and fit a small photo of each of my kids and then adhered it to the tree using pop dots. Using the spool from the sheer ribbon I created the "base" of the tree. Again, I just used a strong, quick drying glue to adhere the tree to the spool (base).

                                                        Very easy but fun! More Christmas projects to come!

For this project I used Maya Road Clear House Album. First I heat embossed the roof and the chimney. Next I used an Art Warehouse stamp and embossed the dotted desgin on each page. Maya Road ribbon, flowers, and pom trimming, and chipboard letters were also used. To hold the album together I used Maya Road sheer ribbon. Maya Road clear house stamp was also heat embossed onto the acrylic page as well as the red hearts. I like how I can stand it up and display it in my house!

Fabric/Maya Road Coupon/address book

    I am not much of a seamstress but I was pretty happy with the results of my coupon/address holder. I had some extra upholstery fabric and used this for my design. Inside is the Maya Road 5x7 black sheer tabbed album to separate coupons/addresses. On the outside I used Maya Road ribbon and flower ribbon slide. The finished size is 5x6.5 (closed). I can slip this in my purse and have a cute little holder for my coupons or addresses/phone numbers.

I love the new Maya Road clear albums!!

I can't seem to get enough of these acrylic albums from Maya Road. I have been experimenting and discovered that you CAN heat emboss these clear albums. I used a clear embossing powder on this album so it looks like ice/snow around the edges of the pages.

    Here is another one I made for a friend of mine. This time I used pink embossing powder! I like how it created a frame for the photo! Maya Road has so many cool clear albums to choose from. Check them out here! I also used MR rubons, clear ribbon, Stickles, and sheer album sheets run through my Sizzix Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing template in these albums.
