Hi friends, Sherri here.
I don't know about you, but for me, it's that time of year when I start to feel like I'm on a hamster wheel, just running around in circles. Work, dance, kids, homework, dance, Christmas prep, cooking, driving, dance (notice a trend). I'm sure there are many of you who know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not complaining, please don't hear that. Despite the constant on-the-go mentality, I truly do feel blessed to be a wife, and a mother, to have a job that I enjoy, and a beautiful roof over my head. Sometimes however, I just need to stop. Right in the middle of the chaos. Stop, and scrap. Some smoke, some have a glass of wine, some shop it out, or loose themselves in a good book or tv show, or movie. I, scrap.
With it being so frigid here for the past couple of days, and by frigid I mean "I could stay in my house and never go out until Spring kind of cold". Here is proof for you (keep in mind these temps are in Celsius) I took this screen shot from The Weather Network last night as I was putting this post together.
So, yes, all I've been thinking about lately is how much I miss summer, and want to go where the heat is. With that in mind I decided to put away the winter/Christmas photos and pull out a photo from back when there was sun, and grass, and warmer temps. I grabbed a photo of my youngest and I just before heading out on a field trip with her class in June, some of my favourite Fancy Pants Designs papers, and the gorgeous
Water Colour Flair buttons, and got to work.
The title is a Studio Calico cut file.
Look at how perfectly that acrylic flower, tag, and flair match.
Here is a close up of the Water Color flair:
With that kind of motivation, and these fabulous products it was incredibly easy and quick to put this layout together. I was thrilled to have pulled this one off from start to finish in about 45 minutes. It felt so great to "get it out of my system". Now I can focus on getting on with my to-do list.
Hope you're making your way through the busyness of the holidays in stride, and still finding time to create and fill your creative cup too. I'll be back in a few days to share some of my latest creations using A Flair For Buttons product, before we wrap up the year here.
Until then, I wish you all the very best of the holidays, even in the midst of the cold and the hustle and bustle.
