Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new LO. I'm not quite ready to let go of fall yet. It's still November right? lol My daughter is such a good sport in letting me take so many photos of her. I thought this photo turned out cute. Most LO's I make are pretty busy. Simple is not usually my style but for some reason this LO ended up being really simple (and I had it done in about 20 minutes!). I felt like it just needed one flair on it to finish it off!
I could seriously scrap fall photos all year round!
Moikka! You probably don't have a clue what "blyrtsi" is? Well, we understood the word when your daughter said it but still were like "whaaaat?!". She's eight now but from time to time acting like a teenager. She this was something she had picked up at school. The word means a pencil. It's wonderful how their language change and they also learn us new sayings and words. I'm partly waiting when I hear her first time say that us parents are so lame! LOL.
I used teal and red in the page as you can see. I started with some gesso and watercolor, but craved for stronger color so I mixed some acrylic paint in there as well. As the page is about word and language, I used letter elements in it. I added some extra alpha in the background and also used letter and saying stamps in the composition.
The flairs I chose to the page follow the same colors, repeating teal and red. I formed like a line running across the page using them.
Thank you for your visit! See you again next month!
Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new LO! I had so much fun making this LO. The Summer Days collection from Simple Stories was perfect for this photo I snapped last summer. And of course the perfect finishing touch to all my LO's is always flair buttons! Cut file is from JustNick.
Red flairs are my favorite. This one was perfect for my LO!
Hi Friends! Orange Gearle here with a layout for you using flair from a couple of different flair sets. This is a picture of my daughter playing piano. She recently started piano lessons and she is just loving it. Each night this is my view, so I thought I'd better scrap it!
Here is a close up of the "be you" flair that I used from the Black and Gold Flair set. Of course I added a bit of tangled gold thread behind it.
I also used a piece of flair from the Lovely Words 2 Flair set. I thought it fit the idea of this layout perfectly (and it helped that the colors matched)!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I also made a process video, if that suits your fancy!
My daughter is so silly -- and apparently she needs to use a snorkel and goggles in the bathtub. I used the black and white and red from the photo to create my color palette. The flair says "This Happened" and "That Happened", which is pretty much perfect for this story. She is always doing things that leaves us thinking....well, THAT just happened. Here are a couple of close ups:
It's Els here again. Today I wanted to share a traveler's notebook page with you. It's only recently that I dabbled into traveler's notebook memory keeping. I gifted myself a gorgeous TN before summer, but found myself a bit daunted by its beauty and size. I eventually decided to just go for it, and started documenting our summer in it.
We took a summer vacation to a beautiful French beach town in July. The weather was cold and not the best, but the views and nature surrounding us however were still completely stunning. I chose two of my favorite pictures to document it.
I like keeping my TN pages fairly simple. I went for a little bit of subtle color in an otherwise black and white spread. And I turned to the Inspirational Words 3 set again for that extra bit of dimension and fun.
Hello there! It's Riikka here today sharing a layout with a video with you. It dawned me the other day that even though my kids know what they want to be when they grow up, I haven't documented it yet! I bet they are going to change their minds many times still, but I guess looking back to the dreams and ideas is never bad! I can't remember my first thoughts about the profession, but at some point I wanted to be an Egyptologist and archaeologist.
As you can see from the video, I started the page with some mixed media touches and then added the papers and embellishments. As I mention in the video, too, I usually gather a selection of flair buttons when I start making the page. They give me an inspiration about the colors and theme or then they contribute to it. When I then have reached the stage where I actually can start to adhere these to the project, I edit. I choose the best ones and usually use two or three in the page whereas I first had something like eight or ten on the table.
In this page I chose flairs that went with the colors, yellow and blue, and that fitted the theme of a dream job and my sweet daughter. There's the clouds to mimic soaring thoughts and the fact that she can touch the sky and do anything. Then there's the heart to represent love and also "dream big" as a guide line.
It's Els here today. I got a 2-pager to share with you today. While browsing the A Flair for Buttons Etsy shop a while ago, I totally fell in love with the Animal flair sets - yes, I bought them all ;) The set that I used for this layout is the Animal 3 set.
We're some serious animal lovers here in our household, and my husband is taking on an affinity for wildlife photography, so these flair speak to me. Add up my love for geometric art and design, and I'm totally sold ...
The left side of these pages has an enlarged picture of a baby elephant and some smaller embellishments. The right side some smaller close-ups and some more room to play.
To tie both pages together, I repeated some of the elements of each of the pages also onto the other one. Some of the dark woodgrain paper in squares on the right side as well, some small pieces of the grey striped paper repeated behind the elephant picture. And of course also some smaller embellishments divided onto both pages.
