{A Flair for Buttons}

Hi, Orange Gearle here with another layout and process video for you. Today I am sharing this layout of my daughter and her best friend. We were at a music festival and they had this great graffiti wall to add to. They had a blast. Here is my layout.

I chose black, white, and red for my color scheme and I was going for something bold and with a lot of contrast.  I used papers from Amy Tangerine's Hustle and Heart collection and several paints from Shimmerz Paints. Here are a few of the yummy layers of paint and patterned paper behind my photo.

This piece of flair was perfect for this story!  I took a bunch of photos, but this one is my favorite for sure -- and I think My One True Love actually took it!. :-)  This piece of flair from the Hello Life Flair Set says exactly what I feel and it just happens to be black and white and red. Perfection!

Munkki-kung fu - layout by Riikka

Moikka! It's Riikka here with my second page for September. Remember what I told in my first page? That I let my husband choose two flairs and worked the pages from that jumping off point? The first flair he chose was the saying which turned into a page about Turisas and for this page he chose a donut flair. That turned into a layout about an inside joke. That's why there's a phrase in the brackets, don't ask. 

The photo in the layout is taken while we were brushing our teeth. A strange situation to take a photo but I did so anyway. Like the arrow states near the photo, his crazy matches mine. We have all kinds of little inside jokes and things. Munkki-kung fu is one of them. The Finnish word "munkki" has a couple of meanings. It means a monk but also a donut like pastry. So that's why the donut flair my husband chose turned into a page about the two of us.

Mermaid at Heart

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new LO.  Now I know what you're thinking, is this girl still scrapbooking summer photos?  Yes, yes I am!  I am not even close to being ready to let summer go yet!  It's been such a beautiful September here in NB Canada I can't even think of fall yet!  This photo is actually from a few years ago.  My daughter loves the water and the beach so much.  I've always called her a mermaid.

I used the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection, free cut file from Paper Issues, and flair from the shop.

..:: first day of school ::..

Hi Friends!  Orange Gearle here with a layout about the first day of school -- and it's not exactly what you might think  It's not photos of my daughter, but photos of the team of teachers that I work with!  I am so blessed to have an awesome team, and so I thought I should document it! Here's a look:

I started with a little bit of mixed media behind my trio of embellishments and photo. Then I used a bunch of Amy Tangerine's Hustle and Heart collection for my papers and embellishments.  And my three pieces of flair are perfection!

I went with a primary colored theme - red, yellow and blue -- and this yellow piece of flair from the Summertime Flair 1 flair set was the perfect pop of yellow!

This "I Love Us" from the Family is Forever flair set is perfect! Totally tells the truth!

And finally, this piece from the Watercolors Flair set is the piece that ties it all together!  I love how this turned out, thank you so much for checking it out!

So Sweet

Hello AFFB fans! It's Lee-Anne here today and I wanted to share a layout of this cutie using flair buttons from the Fun Flair Set 1 and the Woodlands Creatures Flair . 

I was inspired by some heart punched flowers that I saw on a layout of Paige Evans. I thought the centers of the flowers would be a perfect spot to add some flair buttons. It gives the layout some whimsy and dimension.

The top left pink flower and the bottom right pink flower have flair buttons from the Woodlands Creatures Flair Set.  I simply love the adorable owl and bear.

 

 The yellow flower has a flair button from the Fun Flair Set 1. I loved the hexagon heart. I thought it worked with all the hearts on my page and besides...I really love hearts.

I didn't go with any theme with my choice of buttons for this layout. They were simply random flair buttons that I chose from my flair button jar to add to the layout.

There is a local fair that comes around once a year and I swear they try to have as many different food vendors as they can.  It is crazy.  A couple years ago we went with our neighbors to the Topsfield Fair and had a great time.  These little monkeys are adorable.  

What else is adorable is this Carousel line by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.  Perfect for my photos and I had the perfect flair to match......

I used At the Flair along with Black and White Word Flair 2.  Honestly, anything black and white would have matched this collection perfectly.  There are so many options in the ETSY store.

Hiya! How are you today? It's Riikka here to share the first of two layouts I did this month for the lovely Etsy shop! Both of the layouts have something in common. That's the way I chose the flairs this time and drew inspiration from them. In fact, it wasn't me who did the choosing but my husband! I poured all my flairs to my craft table and let him pick two. He picked the "Only Good Vibes" and another which I used for the other page. I then used the flairs as my jumping off point for the whole pages. 

It was really fun to work like this! After I got the first button sorted, I skimmed through my "scrap these" photos. When I saw this one, I knew that it needed to be the one to be used for the page. Then I gathered some more flair that would meet the theme and go to the page. I always do this and choose a ten or so flairs. When it then comes the time to embellish I then edit my choices and add three to five flairs to the page. For this one I chose to go with three hearts and a triangle one together with the sayings one.

The flairs go with the colors of the band the page is about, red and black. Otherwise I used same minty green that is behind the items in the photo. The photo is take of a set list and a drum stick I got in one of their shows. The gigs always put me in a good mood that will last for days - so good vibes only!

Hello AFFB fans! It's Lee-Anne here and today I wanted to share a layout of my handsome cat Sheldon. He is a rescue cat and he has my heart.

For my layout I used a heart paper punch and punched out several hearts in five colors and then I watercolored the white cardstock background with coordinating colors of the paper punched hearts and machine stitched them down with my sewing machine. 

I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum because I thought the layout may appear too busy with the vibrant background. On many of my layouts, I like to add flair buttons directly to the right or left of the photo to draw the eyes to the photo. I used a flair button from the Got Cat Flair set.
