Carpe Diem! There's a saying to live by! My earliest memory of the phrase is from junior high school, from Finnish lesson and movie "Dead Poets Society". Our job was to analyze the film and it really moved me, had a great impact on me. It's still one of my favorite movies and even though I can't say that I follow the phrase daily, I try to keep that in mind. 

In my mind I combined the saying to the idea that time flies. Seize the day as time flies and tomorrow it might be too late. The flair is from the Daily Words set and I've placed it inside a clock. The wings for the flying time are done with metal embellishments and feathers.

I surprised even myself when choosing the colors as I didn't go with my all time favorite blue and green but with purple and pink. Somehow the Baroque style rich scheme fitted the idea better than the airy and light palette.

Hi! Orange Gearle here with a fun spring layout for you!

I used a cut file from Just Nick Studio, some patterned paper from Shimelle's Little by Little, and gelatos, mists, and watercolors. This was a fun layout and the flair buttons were perfect for this layout all about spring emerging!

I used butterfly flair from the Lovely Words 2 and Lovely Words 3 sets.

This 'emerge' flair is also in the Lovely Words 3 set.

Don't grow up

Michelle here today with a new LO using some awesome flair buttons and the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection.  I love all flair buttons but my favorite ones are always the ones with words and saying on them.  It's always the perfect little extra to add to your LO!

I love this photo of my son.  Even thought it's from 2 years ago I keep using it because I really don't have many good photos of him.  Teenage boys right?  Anyone else have that problem?  LOL

Good morning!  

Seems like so long ago my boy had a fun project to due.  He had to give a speech and dress as the character.  I absolutely love how dedicated he was to the entire project.  Look how adorable he is in his soccer socks, pulled up black sweats, dads oversized white shirt, an old black shirt cut into a vest and homemade bald head!  I can't help but smile.  

It was fitting for this 'old' realistic photo to be vintageized! (I made that up!)  The perfect collection for the job was Heidi Swapp's Magnolia Jane.  I added the perfect flair to the mix - Chalk Board Camera Flair.

Hi!  Happy interNational Scrapbooking Day! Orange Gearle here with my first blogpost for A Flair For Buttons! I am super excited to be a part of this fabulous team! 

I used three different pieces of flair on this layout about my family. I used "Just Us" from the Family is Forever set because it fit the theme and color of this layout (and acts as part of my title)!

I nestled this geometric heart into some gold thread. That heart is from the Black and Gold set.

And by far my favorite piece is from the gorgeous LOVE Gold Foil Flair set! I also made a process video showing how this layout came together,  if that suits your fancy.

Get ready to party - LO by Riikka

Hi there! How are you? Enjoying the spring and making plans for the upcoming summer? I have two things planned for the summer - well, two things outside crafting and scrapbooking. The first one is our summer vacation for the whole family and the second one is seeing this band live. If you've seen my pages before, I guess you know that the band I'm talking about is Finnish heavy metal band Turisas.

The band usually ends the gig with a cover either playing "It's a sin" or "Rasputin". I love the latter version, it really gets the party started. Well, the whole gig usually is a party for me, but there's just something in that odd song!

The picture I used in my page is taken from a past gig and presents the band's violinist, Olli Vänskä. As it's black and white, you can't see band's choice of colors - red and black but I used in my page anyway. That's why all the flairs I used in my page are following that color scheme, too. Red ones from the Stripes 1 and Linen Chevron sets and black from the Daily Words set. I thought a long time if I should add the flowers or not, but then decided to put them on, kind of a mean to build contrast.
