Happy Tuesday, friends! Missy back with you today, and although it's Fall, today I'm sharing a beachy Summer layout. I used flair from the Travel Stories 1 and Enjoy Summer Flair 2 sets. I never tire of scrapping Summer photos, and I wanted to create a soft and light layout. I used the Simple Stories You Are Here collection to showcase this photo of my husband and me on the beach in Aruba. I used some beautiful Shimmerz Paints products to create my background. I layered two chipboard frames after machine stitching through them. I layered the photo on top of that and worked the embellishments around it. These two flair were the perfect additions.
This flair reminds me of a sunset, and I love how it looks overlapping the photo. I layered a fussy cut flower cluster here for a bit more added detail. I echoed the colors in the flair on the background with the watercolor. I added some foam under my photo so it wouldn't cave in inside those frames.
I tucked this flair right under the photo and on top of the cute cloud & sun die cut. Since most of this area was white, I added some mint thread under the flair so it would pop a little more. I also did some more machine stitching with gold thread.
This part was fun. I used some green Shimmerz on this wood veneer palm tree and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I love how shiny and slick it is, and it looks so cool right next to the photo. I added a slender piece of foam under it so it would be higher than the photo. I also added a fussy cut camera and more flower stickers here. I'm loving these colors together!
I combined some gold glitter Thickers with a Cameo cut to make my title. I lightly brushed on some pink, mint and gold Shimmerz on the "sunset." I wanted it to stay really light, so I didn't put too much on it.
For my final close-up, here's a look at the journaling area. It fit perfectly right under the title. I added a few more stickers, some stitching and an enamel dot to finish it off as well as some gold splatters.
Here are the flair sets I pulled from:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
