Here is the first layout I created. I couldn't help but scrap a fun pool photo for this...the colors just beg for this collection. I used some distress ink and a sunburst stencil to create some light rays in the background. I covered a lot of the background with white gesso first, though, to give some distinction between the yellows and to hold all the wet inks I used. I used some teal and yellow colored spray inks and lots of water to create the background. There are so many fun embellishments in this collection...chipboard, stickers, cut apart sheets...it was hard to narrow it down.
I layered in some teal thread under this flair button...I can't get enough of that gorgeous sunset ombre look in that "Summer" on the button....just gorgeous!
More ombre beauty...and I love this phrase. Perfect for my little ray of sunshine! I layered this button on top of a chipboard frame and came in with a few cut aparts to create a cluster.
Here's a look at the title area...lots of fun sentiment stickers and journaling. I really love all of these fun colors together.
Here's my second page. I went for more of a clean look on this one and wanted to focus on all the fun summer-related pieces that remind me of summer. I used the drinks, ice cream and sunglasses. I used a triangle punch to create those fun banners and then machine stitched them down. The "summer" part of my title was cut from one of the transparent photo overlays. I added a bit of Color Shine at the end.
This is my favorite flair pin in this set. I love the orange-red color, and I love cameras! I cut some scribbly circles on my Cameo and then used gelatos to color them to match the yellows and oranges. I love using circles behind my photos.
I also love layering tangled thread under my flair buttons. It adds interest and a fun pop of color. I love the mix of alphas here for the title, and I love the tone-on-tone color with the teals.
Here's another look at the embellishment cluster. I added pop dots behind the lemonade and the camera to add some depth, and I also added a brad to the camera.
One last close-up of the banners...this is such a fun and easy way to use lots of patterns and color on your pages.
Thanks, Simple Stories, for creating such an amazing collection!!
