Hey everyone! Diane here sharing a quick and easy layout of my son on the beach during a vacation to California. Although he was raised in Texas, he was born in California and I will always think of him as my "California Kid".

 

In my book, he is definitely a keeper! I used lots of hearts and a little pink (love sneaking in pink on boy layouts) along with some fabulous flair from the {a flair for buttons} shop.

 

The flair is from the Number Phrases 1 Flair set and the Hello Life Flair set.

Adventure Is Out There

I am typically a small photo kind of scrapper, and usually keep my photo size around 3 inches.  But I thought it would be fun to do a little something different on today's layout and GO BIG!  I decided to print an 8x8 photo and layer my title over the photo, and create embellishment clusters on the sides of the photo, mixing in some Flair Buttons from the Around the World 2 Flair set.

 

 

 

 

I wanted to add the Flair Buttons on opposite sides of the photo, so I created two embellishment clusters.  To add contrast to the cluster, I mixed in wood veneers, stickers and enamel dots with the Flair Buttons.  I love to have different textures on my layouts, so this is a fun way to mix in several types of embellishments.

Just Plain Cute

Hey there, friends!  Missy here.  I have a fun (and just plain cute) layout to share with you today :)  I pulled out this adorable photo of my little Paige from a few years ago to scrap, and I used the Basic Grey Prism collection.  I started off with the triangle stamp that is part of the collection and used some black archival ink on white cardstock.  I then came over that with an American Crafts flower stencil and some shades of blue distress ink.  I added in some blue, orange and black ink splatters.  I used a few patterned papers behind my photo and pulled several coordinating embellishments for the right hand side.  I used two awesome flair buttons from two different sets, which I have listed below.

I added in some washi tape, some stamping and some tangled thread.  I love layering my flair buttons like this.  They are awesome for clustering.

I love any type of embellishment with a camera on it, and this flair button was perfect for this spot.  I rolled some orange thread into a circle and layered it under the button.  I love the pop of orange it gives, and it helps separate the white of the button from the white of the paper.
 
I cut the pink messy frame on my Cameo, and these big flowers are a Jillibean Soup stamp.  I used gelatos to color them in to match my patterned papers.  This way, I was able to get more of the yellow and royal blue onto my page to pick up the blue in her shirt a little more.
Here's a look at the top of the photo...another stamped flower that I cut out.  I love how it looks when it's layered.

And finally a look at the journaling and title area.  Those are American Crafts Thickers, and the stamps are from Simple Stories and Elle's Studio.  I added in a bit of pink machine stitching and some Tim Holtz sentiment stickers at the bottom.

On My Mind

Hi flair fans,

It's Els here today. I have a fun CAS layout to share, using a picture of my kids on the beach past winter.  

This turned out to be a very personal layout, journaling some thoughts about motherhood. I love how versatile flair buttons can be, to go with almost any project. The one I used here is from the Chalk Words 2 set - one of my favorites.

Guest Designer | Sasha Farina

Hi everyone!!

My name is Sasha Farina and I'm so honored, excited and humbled to be blogging as Guest Designer today. 

Let me just introduce myself real quick!

I'm currently living in Singapore with my husband, Sam and my two teenage daughters, Neha and Nidhi. That felt weird, to be honest. I have never introduced the girls as 'teenage' before! Yikes! Time flies! I started scrapbooking in 2006 and have always, will always be (I think) 'layout oriented' than anything else. I tried making cards before and while they don't look bad, I did not enjoy them as much. Enjoying the process and the end product is a must for me. If it's not fun, I might as well be folding laundry. Haha!

Besides scrapbooking, I do enjoy reading, traveling with my girls, being on Instagram, long bike rides with Sam and also good food! 

Enough about me, let's  take a look at the layouts I made with some of the awesome flairs Shelley sent me.

 

For this first layout, I used one of the flairs from Lovely Words 6 set.  

It says 'I am ready'.

It's just a perfect piece for this layout about what I would tell my younger self if I could. I can't of course, but if anyone knows how to turn back time, please let me in the secret. 

I'm actually loving all flairs in the Lovely Words series but settled on this one because I already have this story in mind. I knew that I wanted to scrap something like this using that photo of me at around 4 years old. 

I imagine any of the Lovely Words set is great if you're into documenting yourself, which I'm big on or even if you're into art journaling. 

For this second layout, I used a photo of Nidhi I've already used multiple times, that I already have on hand. I really don't mind scrapping the same photo many times especially if that photo is a favorite, what about you? Are you against re-scrapping photos?

That adorable camera flair came from Tell Your Story 2 set and it matches the tone of the photo too! I love that I'm able to go crazy with colors because the flair is neutral. You can use whatever color your heart desires (neon pink, anyone? haha!) and still be able to fit that flair in, in my opinion. 

I'll be creating more layouts with whatever I have left in the near future, I'm sure. When I do, I will have them up on my blog and on instagram once I have them ready.

Summer Mini

We recently took a train ride down the coast - one of my sons favorite things to do.  We had free Metrolink tickets and an afternoon to spend.  I've been wanting to get some photos under a pier anyway so this was my perfect excuse.

I used the I {Heart} Summer line from Simple Stories to document this short trip.

Love This Man

Good morning.  It is Mary-Ann with you today to share a layout I created, honoring and expressing my love for this man.  My husband.  My son's father.  Of all the things my husband does, he is best at being a father.  He and my boy are so very tight and are inseparable.  They love each other to the moon and back, and back to the moon, then back again, 5 gazillion times twice!  I decided that it was a great time for this layout with Father's Day fast approaching.  For those of you that forgot, it is this Sunday, you better get busy!

Seems like it's dog week here on the blog!  It's Katrina with a quick share of a layout all about that fun season for dog owners of shedding.  And with corgis, I am just going to tell you, it's January thru June and then July thru December!

I usually spread my flair out, but decided this time for "impact" and clustered it as a divider between my photos.

Little Helpers

Hello everyone!

It's Ashli here with you today to share a little layout I scrapped up recently with some FLAIR!

I love using old Project Life Cards, cut in strips, as a feature on a project. In fact, you might have seen me do that in one of my recent #FlipScrapGo Insta-process videos if you follow me on Instagram.

And, I think the addition of the FLAIR is the perfect balance to the rectangular strips!

Good Boy

I have this "thing" where I really love incorporating my Flair Buttons in my layout titles.  You've probably noticed, this technique on some of my other pages.  My philosophy is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!  HA!  It's really fun to find ways to incorporate the Flair into your title.  For this layout, I created a large die cut title and added a couple of Flair Buttons from the Got Dog Flair set, to the center of the two O's in my title.

 

 

 

 

I also added a few other embellishments with the Flair Buttons, to create some different dimensions and texture on my layout.  This is definitely a fun way to add some "flair" to your layout.

The Great Outdoors

Hello friends! It's Lee-Anne here and I wanted to share a layout of the great outdoors.  My daughter and son in law love to go ATVing and be outdoors whenever they can.

I loved these flair buttons and thought they would be perfect for this layout.  What I like is that the tree and fox flair,  from the Fox And Owl Flair set, can be used on this layout as well as the "adventure is out there flair" from the Happy Camper Flair set. I love that the different sets can be so versatile for so many themes!

Happy Birthday Card

Hi everyone, Diane here! It seems I never have enough birthday cards so I decided to pair my Crate Paper Confetti goodies leftover from my May Gossamer Blue kits with flair from {a flair for buttons} to create a quick and easy birthday card.

The background may look complicated, but it is a 6x6 piece of paper already collaged making this card come together quickly.

I used the "Happy Happy Happy" piece of flair from the Just Words Flair set along with a  "birthday" chipboard greeting.

You Had Me At Meow

Hello friends! It's Lee-Anne here today and I am happy to share a pet layout of my cat Sheldon.  He is a rescue cat and was very sick and thin when we adopted him but we loved his personality so much that we took a chance on him and am I ever glad we did because he is the best cat I have ever had.  

I used some Simple Stories Cat 3X4 Sn@p Cards and Simple Stories Sn@p Insta Squares  And Pieces on the layout.  I didn't even use a piece of paper other than the background which is white card stock that I painted with paint dabbers and hand stitched with some embroidery floss.

 

I love the Got Cat Flair and had to finish off the page with it.  Don't they simply put the icing on the cake?  Check out these flair and hundreds more flair in the A Flair For Buttons Store.

Tryouts

Since I have a boy, my collection of flair is mostly boy friendly!  I have collected lots of boy words, sports, and colors.  Today I have incorporated three different sets of flair to my baseball tryouts layout.  One would not have been enough and the comments of each are perfect for my design.  

 

I hope you take a minute to read the journaling.  I often try to write hidden journaling to my boy so when he reads them later in life, he will understand why things are so important to me.  So he can completely see the story.

Documenting Disney

I recently started documenting our Disney adventures.  Since I'm not really a theme scrapper and don't use overly themed papers, I found it hard to take pictures AND then document them later.  I've been saving Disney for photo book from Snapfish or something like that.

Then Simple Stories came out with their themed lines that aren't overly themed, but work oh-so-well.  I've been slowly buying pieces of the first line and then they surprised me last summer with a second, follow up line.  I quickly hoarded that line as well.

At a recent retreat, I took everything - including 8 years of photos.  I used my entire 6 foot table to spread out and start stuffing things into those pocket pages.

Shelley has some great theme park flair in the shop and I've been holding on to them until I was ready to start this project.  Here is a sample of how I'm using the flair in this album:

I used the Mouse Word Flair in the shop.  They come in a colored set and a Black and White set.  I chose Black and White because it goes with everything!
