Sad Farewell!

Hello lovely readers

So this is a sad note to share with you all today, but this will be my last post for A Flair for Buttons, I have made the tough decision to stand down from the team, life is moving in different circles for me and this was one hard decision, but I know I will always be out there promoting this amazing and beautiful flair and I just want to thank Shelley from the bottom of my heart for asking me to be apart of this fabulous team, I know one day I will return..

I know Shelley and I have an amazing relationship and we will continue to stay in touch and be friends, to my Teamies, your creations inspire me like non other, keep ROCKING! it girls..

So without further ado, here is my latest and last creation..

I chose to pair up the Love You flair with some pattern papers from Crate Paper, adding layers of embellishments from October Afternoon, Allison Kreft, Gossamer Blue wood veneer and finishing off with some stamping and enamel dots..

Words of Encouragement | Card

Hello everyone, Diane here, sharing a card of encouragement. You can never have too many of these around, you never know when it will be just what a friend needs.

The flair phrase is from the Just Words 3 Flair set. It includes lots of sayings that would be great for layout and cards.

Let's Talk Flair!

I love using a patterned paper, that lends itself to a great design idea!  I started my Oh Happy Day layout by deciding to use three Flair Buttons from the Instalove 3 Flair set and the My Life Flair set 4.  My favorite colors are Yellow and Orange, so these 3 buttons were just calling my name!  And I knew I wanted to use them on a talk bubble patterned paper, that I had from Elle's Studio.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This background gave me a fun base for adding my Flair Buttons and embellishments.  I created a visual triangle with the Flair, by placing them from the top left hand side, to the right hand side of the page and in the bottom center of the page.  I also wanted to ground my Flair Buttons, so I added a small piece of patterned paper under two of them, and a tag with the date under the third button.

A Touch of Whimsy

My oldest recently celebrated her Grade 9 graduation.

This photo I was able to capture of her and her friend has such a whimical feel to it, I just knew I wanted to re-create that same feeling with the products and papers I chose to document the moment.  The colours and patterns all lend themselves to the feel.

 

The Lovely Words 3 buttons really helped to completed the layout. All these buttons including the little globe from the Around The World 3 collection give the layout a sence of hope and future, like "they have the world in their hands with so much journey that lies ahead".  

I just love the way Shelley is able to design buttons that have something to "say" in addition to adding colour and dimension to our projects.  Hop over here to see the latest flair buttons added to the shop.

A little summer fun

I'm one of those scrappers that is behind in scrapping the memories.  Way behind.  We took this trip to the Carribean in 2003 and I still don't have all the pictures in an album.

As I was cleaning out my room the other day I found this older line from Bella Blvd - Sand and Sun.  I grabbed some of my favorite remaining photos from the stack and created a mini album.

I used all Bella Blvd items (crocheted hearts, sticker letters, cardstock stickers and of course, the paper), some flair from the shop (Just Cruisin' set) and a manilla file folder.  To create the mini, I folded the bottom third of the file folder in to create a pocket.  You can use these to store extra photos, tickets or other flat memorabilia.

 

To get my sticker letters to stand out more, I added a little Glossy Accents to them.  In fact, I love Glossy Accents so much that I use it on a lot of the tags and things in my work.  Its a fun accent.

Joy here today to bring you a fun and somewhat supportive card for all those ladies out there that maybe at times need some uplifting support..

Using the Just Words Flair 2 to create the base of this card, along with some fun die cuts from Simon Says Stamp and some beautiful pattern papers too..

I love how the words You Go Girl is so fitting to the sentiment I added to this card...

I hope that if you need that little support today that this card lifts your spirits somewhat :)

Friendship card

Hi, Daniela here with a friendship card. I am using new dies and stamps from Impression Obsession.

The heart from Just Hearts 2 Flair is perfect for a very special friend. There are several different colors in this set.

Make sure you add just a little flair to your projects, too. You can find these, and lots more in the shop { a flair for buttons }.

Life is Good

Of course life is good when your a super cute frenchie, able to lay around on the lounge chair by the pool and bask in the sun all day!!  This is Flo, a super lazy pup that loves attention and the sun.  Seriously, would you place any other face in the center of this sun circle?  I think not!  

Mary-Ann here, sharing my puppy and my layout with you today!  I started with a cut file and went from there.  

I had the bright idea of coloring these word titles with paint!  Not re-inventing the wheel for most of you but it is a new concept for me!  I dug out my brayer from high school, got an old box that has already been used for spray painting and started painting clouds and the title!

Below is the end result of my title.  I thought that the blue paint was a bit too bright so I doodled white around the letters, drew designs in the clouds, and this helped tone the bright blue down a bit.  

Can you see that I ended up doodling in my paint splotches too?  I had to wait for all my painting to dry before I attempted to doodle.  

Machine stitching, enamel dots and flair make this layout complete.  

I hope you enjoyed seeing the most beautiful face in the world!  I get to wake up to this every morning, chin hairs and all.  The flair that I used on this project are the perfect match.  Here is what I used!

I have received so much support and love for my flair buttons from so many of you and it truly means the world to me. Hello Sweet Girl!

Hello there everyone!

I hope that you are all looking forward to your weekend, that really is just around the corner..

I have been creating up a storm using beautiful flair from A Flair for Buttons and thought I would share one of the cards that I have created..

I chose a really simple layout and very CAS style, that really screams me, although I love to layer at times, my style is to be this simplified..

I added a die cut Hello from Studio Calico, layered the word by die cutting and gluing together several layers, to form dimension...

I then collected a few little items that I had laying around my craft room, like the Dear Lizzy heart, American Crafts Glitter Tape and a little tag type paper clip from Elle's Studio, adding directly to the heart of course a flair from the Sweet Flair set..finishing off by adding a scattering of silver sequins..

Embellish Your Embellishments!

If you're like me, then I am sure you love to embellish your layouts.  And Flair Buttons are perfect for that purpose!  You can add your Flair Buttons to other embellishments on your projects, for a one of a kind look!

 

 

 

I used the Flair Buttons to embellish the October Afternoon chipboard camera and the 3x4 printed journaling card.  The Flair Buttons  I used, are from the Krafty 1 set and the Number Phrases 1 set.  I love that the Buttons balance out my design, and blend in perfectly with the colors on my layout.  I only used one piece of patterned paper on this layout and let my other colors come from the photos, Flair Buttons, spray mist and embellishments.  And since I used a grid design on this layout, it wasy quick and easy to put together!

 

So next time you're looking through your embellishments, grab your Flair Buttons and see how you can liven up what you have on hand, and get those embellishments on a layout, card or project!

Hello Sunshine

Hi, Daniela here with a bright summer card. I am using a brand new stamp set from Technique Tuesday, Hello Sunshine, and fun papers from Elle's Studio. 

 After I stamped the sun, and cut it out, I added this beautiful ombre chevron flair as the center. It just pops right there on top of the yellow.

 

Make sure you add just a little flair to your projects, too. You can find these, and lots more in the shop { a flair for buttons }.

FETISH

Today, I am here to share a little secret with you.  Mary-Ann here, wondering if anyone else out there has a dish fetish as bad as mine???

 My husband brought home an armful of beautiful hand painted pottery from Mexico.  I asked if he could bring extras of the exact same thing for a few friends as a thank you gift for helping during a recent surgery.  Of course no two things are alike when hand-painting!!  The decision was tough.  I wanted them all!!!  Insert sad face.

Just yesterday I received a delightful package from Shelley.  It included the two flair from the "Mexico Flair" set that I specifically asked for. 

I started with dusting off my Silhouette and picking papers that would match my flair!  Seriously, I started with flair and designed out from there!  I cut my background design of frumpy circles.  Trimmed this down and backed it with foam tape for dimension. 

 

Then I cut small pieces of random papers to insert behind each circle.  It is important to look at direction when choosing your paper designs.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

I layered papers, added embellishments, journaling and then flair!  Machine sewing was a must on this page so my title would stay on the page!

Can you see why I had a hard time parting with any of these beauties:o(

I did, and I am gratful for friends who help and grateful for a husband who enables my addiction.

Travel Flair

I love just about ewverything in the shop, but I'm most addicted to Travel Flair.  Maps, geotags, arrows.....

I had to take a couple of months off from creating due to extensive travel for work and it felt so good to get back into my craft room in late July to start making things again.  I felt the months of stress roll off my back and I threw several layouts together.  

You can see more on my personal blog here.  I used a Cocoa Daisy kit and my new addiction - Wink of Stella pen to outline the papers and edges in silver.

Silly Boy

Hi there Flair fans, Mary-Ann here to share this supper crazy layout out with you today featuring two different sets of flair.  The pastel tones of both of these flair fit perfectly with the washed tones of my layout.  

This is straight up evidence that my boy is coo-coo!  

 

These papers come from May's Studio Calico kit and most of the other embellies are from Freckled Fawn, Oh Deer Me kit.

 

 

 

I love grouping two or three different items together in a cluster.

Hi everyone, Diane here! I have a fun layout to share that reflects on all that I am grateful for during the last 25 years with my honey. As always, I was able to find the perfect flair t0 embellish my layout!

I used my usual favorites...flair from {a flair for buttons} and gold accents!

I adhered the gold rimmed labels to a piece of paper, fed it into my typewriter and added my journaling. Each label is embellished with a piece of flair and gem stones in a coordinating color.
