{A Flair for Buttons}

My Life

Hi there! It's me again, Els. I'm here to share one of my favorite layouts from the past few weeks with you. I used some of the products I'm in love with the most these days, and that chalkboard flair is one of them.

This project is not about my kids for a change ;) I started out with a white cardstock base, which I ran through my Silhouette Cameo using this free die-cut file from the very talented Jessy Christopher. I backed it up with that gorgeous green patterned paper from Studio Tekturek's new One Way Ticket collection. And then added a bunch of green and gold embellishments.

The Good Life

Hey everyone, Diane here sharing a colorful (no surprise from me, right?!) layout with my thoughts about my first international flight as a crew member to Frankfurt, Germany and what I did while I was there!

I used some Project Life pocket cards to create a grid design for the foundation of my page, and finished it off with some stitching, puffy stickers and my favorite flair, of course!

I used the Script Word Flair and Just Words 3 Flair to embellish the layout.

Joy here again sharing yet another card using some beautiful flair...

I chose to do quite a bit of layering on this card and more of a grunge but feminine twist to it..

Layering Teresa Collins and Heidi Swapp pattern papers, adding a little sewing, some Color Shine splatters, a flower made from silver vellum, adding to the centre a pattern Flair Button..This set of course is called Jane Eyre, such a beautiful set that has beautiful patterns, but of course you could use other sets like these below too for the same effect

Nice Catch & a Fish Too!

I love looking at projects from fellow scrapbookers, and sometimes something catches your eye, that you know you have to use on a layout.  I spotted a great page by Melanie Blackburn, using the negative chipboard piece, that was leftover from some of her embellishments.  I knew right away, I wanted to incorporate the negative chipboard on a layout and thought it would be a great way to add in some flair, in the negative spaces!

 

 

 

 

I had the leftover Stars & Hearts chipboard piece from the October Afternoon Daily Flash collection.  I placed the chipboard behind my photos and then I used Flair Buttons from the Chalk Words 2 Flair set and the Number Phrases 1 Flair set, in the center of two of the stars.  And the Ampersand Flair Button from the Best Friends Flair set, worked great in my title.

 

So when you are looking through Galleries and your favorite Blogs, don't be afraid to look for inspiration and then find fun ways to incorporate it into your own layouts.  And then grab those Flair Buttons and make a good layout great, by adding the final finishing embellishments!

Car Selfies

As we wait at the bus stop, we often take some really cool car selfies.  I can't help but share with you my sexy dog.  Her name is Flo and her old man neck gets me every time.  I just love her and can not often capture the details of her beauty:o)  I tell ya, if you met her, you would love her too!  Mary-Ann here to share with you some car selfies, my dog and some really cool flair.

I created this layout using Studio Calico scrapbooking kit of the month, added a Freckled Fawn flower resin, some Essential chipboard hearts from SC, and Heidi Swapp pink color shine.

 

Gulp, just look at this badge.  My heart melts almost as much as seeing my dogs photos. 

 

Yup, this woodgrain paper has pink undertones, perfect for my girl and all the pink embellies I used.

Beauty School Drop Out?

Well... not exactly. I did finish and graduate. Ashli Oliver here with you today and yes,  once apon a time, what seems like a lifetime ago actually, I went to beauty school and became a liscenced esthetician and makeup artist. 

I almost giggle out loud as I type that, but in all seriousness, it was hard. Really hard. I worked full time during the day and went to school at night and on the weekends. It truly was a happy day when I received my certificate!

I worked in the field for several years, accomplishing my goal of being able to work part time and make full time money. But, the vanity factor proved to be too much for me and I quickly realized that this profession needed to serve as a means to an end instead of as a life long career. It truly was a dream realized when I was able to quit and become a stay-at-home mom.

This experience taught me many things and I designed this page so that I would have sufficient space for all of my journaling...

Here's the deal, I can wash your face over and over, clear your pores, buff, puff, moisturize, and make you over... but you will still be you.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel your best, but you will always be you. And that's a good thing!

This applies to a great many things in life and certainly to scrapbooking. Sure, we can take classes on design principles and techniques, we can scraplift and try new thing. In fact, I love doing these things and I highly recommend it! However, you should be true to yourself. Always be YOU. No one else.

And do it with FLAIR.

Summer Adventure

 Hi, Daniela here with a travel card. It's summer and people are going on trips, to visit family, vacations, or just on a fun adventure around town. These fun Hashtag Summer Flair are perfect for those summer/travel cards, layouts or mini albums.

The card started with two pieces of patterned paper that I had to replicate with my Impression Obsession stamps. 

I added some travle stickers and, of course, #travel flair. 

Make sure you add just a little flair to your projects, too. You can find these, and lots more in the shop { a flair for buttons }.

My Summer Bucket List

Hey everyone! Diane here sharing a fun layout with my summer bucket list today. I've never actually created a summer bucket list layout before but since I'll be home with the kids more this summer I thought it would be a fun thing to do!

For my layout, I decided to enlarge a favorite summer photo of the kids and added my title and sub-title right on top...including flair!

My list is short, 9 items, to keep it from overwhelming me and taking the fun out of the concept. I used some over-sized number rub-ons for my list, placing it to the right of the photo.

Hi AFB fans, Mary-Ann here to share a super quick and easy layout with you.  No fuss, no muss!  I created this layout using April's Studio Calico kit and added a touch of flair to finish it off.  Not much layering or paper piecing on this simple layout.  But, I love the completed clean look.  

 

I often add multiple flair to a layout or project but keeping in light is spectacular too.

For this project, I used Woodgrain Wood Flair.

Hi everyone!

It has been awhile since I last posted over here, life just seems to get in the way at times and does not allow for other pursuits..

So I pulled out some Flair the other day and whipped up a card, using my favourite at the moment Vellum and of course Butterflies..

Adding layering by die cutting a cluster of leaves from vellum and then die cutting some butterflies from wood veneer paper and also vellum, adhering the butteflies together, adding of course the main feature, Seize the Day Flair, this is from the Just Words 2 Flair set.

I pieced it all together on a white card stock and added this to a grey card, adding a tag feature with pattern paper, a stamped sentiment from Altenew, some sequins and some sewing thread..

I will be back later in the month to share another creation with you all..

A Mini Album... Full of Flair!

Hi there! Ashli Oliver here today to share with you a mini I have been working on. This mini is all about how, for the next 6 months, I will have four children ages 8 and under. For more about how this album started and how I altered the cover, you can take a look at my post here.

I am using the We R Memory Keepers 4x4 album for this project. Besides being so cute in it's size, it is also quite roomy in it's depth. This allows for lots of page embellishing and most importantly... FLAIR!

For the intro page to my album, I wanted to simply showcase my four girlies. But, I also wanted a bit of embellishment. A flair piece was perfect for this!

I also used the back end of a colored pencil to dot some paint along the photos and finished things off with a couple of vellum pieces.

This whole album will be fairly simple, mostly focusing on journaling... all about the crazy joyful chaos that is my life right now...

You might notice that most of my embellishing, especially the FLAIR pieces, is done on the outside of the page protector. I love this techniqe for pocket scrapbooking as it doesn't cause the smaller space to warp over the FlAIR. How do I attach it? Easy! Glue dots!

This album is only just beginning, but I look forward to filling it up with tons of memories and tons of FLAIR!

This Is the Life

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to be here today, to share my first layout with you, as the newest A Flair for Buttons Design Team member!  I discovered Shelley's cute flair a while back, and have been using them to add the perfect embellishment to my pages!  So I am beyond thrilled to now be a part of the Team, and working with these talented Ladies!

The temperatures down here in the South, are getting pretty high, so that means it's time for the pool and the beach.  I used a photo from our first pool day, on this layout, and added several flair buttons that match the theme of my page.

One of my favorite things about Flair, is that you can mix the buttons from different sets and they still coordinate really well.  I used the "Photo" button from the Krafty 1 set, the "Take 5" button from the Number Phrases 1 set, and the "Pool Time" button from the Summertime Flair 1 set.  So I have a mix of three sets on one layout, and they all work great together!

 

I love to create groupings and clusters on my layouts, so I mixed the Flair Buttons in with the other embellishments on my page.  They add just the right touch of dimension to my page!

You can find each of these sets in the A Flair fo Buttons shop, and they will look great on your Summer layouts, and even your everyday layouts!!

Vroom & Let's Take a Trip

Mary-Ann here, I have been trying to use my stash of flair and have succeeded!  I have been a busy bee and have two layouts to share with you today.  

My first is Vroom!  The colors in this layout had me narrowing down the flair that I wanted to use.  I am not sure that there is such a thing as too much but I did have way too many picked out that would have coordinated with this Jillibean product.

 

Here is my other...  Let's Take a Trip!  My son was so upset when he heard his friend was on a road trip and he wasn't.

Happy birthday card

 Hi, Daniela here with another birthday card. This time I am using Ombre Chevron Flair. 

I stamped different rows alternating with Zips adhesive lines from Therm O Web and Flower Soft. It gives a card great texture. The flair button is perftect for the center of the die cut star. 

Make sure you add just a little flair to your projects, too. You can find these, and lots more in the shop { a flair for buttons }.
