Best Day Ever

Hello! Tessa here! I needed a break from holiday crafting and working on CHA-Winter projects, so I sat down to create something just for me. I pulled out a photo from a summer vacation with my sisters and inspired by this color challenge, I went to town:

The best scrapbooking products are the ones you turn to time and time again, and my box of A Flair for Buttons badges is definitely a go-to resource for the perfect embellishment. I chose this "capture" flair because it conveyed how grateful I was to have this moment with my sisters documented. It's part of this set, available in the shop.

Merry Christmas

Christmas is here! After all the planning, shopping, wrapping, cooking, parties and craziness of the holiday season the big day has arrived! One of my favorite days of the year!

I've had a lot of fun creating Christmas layouts this year and wanted to share my final two before the holiday season is past us.

The first one features pictures from our Christmas card photo shoot this year.

So cute...looking forward to using the rest of the pieces in this one!

This next layout is of my kiddos on Christmas Eve several years ago. Christmas Eve is always such a fun night for us, full of excitement and anticipation.

Christmas Traditions

Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love documenting the traditions that make it special and memorable to our family. They are usually simple little things, that if you didn't do your Christmas season would feel incomplete. 

I recently completed two pages documenting a couple fun traditions in our family.

I love going to an area mall for lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant. The view from the restaurant is perfect...right next to the ice skating rink with the HUGE Christmas tree. When we're finished eating we go Christmas shopping together! It's the perfect day.

I used the Sunburst Bright Flair and the Smash Words 1 flair to embellish my page. Both are versatile non-Christmas sets that worked beautifully on my Christmas layout.

Another traditions are Christmas stockings. I always take a photo of the kids with their stocking before they dig into to them, it is really fun to look at the "stocking" pictures each year and see how they've grown too.

I used the Sunburst Brights Flair set to adorn the top of the Christmas Tree and the stocking in the Hello Winter 2 flair set for the center of the snowflake.

Aussie Christmas

Here is Australia, we do Christmas a little differently than those of you in the northern hemisphere. Here it's smack bang in the middle of summer and as I'm sure you know, summer here is HOT! So I thought I would do a layout about highlighting how a lot of Aussies head to the beach on Christmas day.

This photo was taken of my husband, brother and two sons on Christmas Day last year. We packed a pincic Christmas lunch and headed to one of our favourite spots, Coogee Beach. We spent the morning playing in the sand and surf, before heading home in the afternoon to chill out in the air conditioning.

I used the "At The Beach 1" Flair set for this layout, which just went perfectly with my photo...

Counting blessings. A quick flair button scrapbook page

Are you feeling the minutes counting down to Christmas yet?

This week I managed to dash off a quick page for a photo I've wanted to scrap for a long time but couldn't because of it's enotional content.

I did not get to enjoy my first pregnancy.

I was over the moon when I found out I was going to be a Mom but from the first sonogram at 10 weeks, I got dire news about the possibility of life threatening genetic defects. 

I was given a slew of perfectly meaningless percentage numbers to mull over.

I was told I should consider "terminating the pregnancy".

But I preservered. Doctor's couldn't figure out what was wrong- all the tests came back negative.

I was afraid for the future but I was already in love with the tiny bean of life within so I made a promise that I would be stronger than whatever challenge we met.

Today the little bean is three years old and amazes me daily with new questions and discoveries. There were no genetic issues, just a very sick baby that needed 6 weeks in the NICU to get better.

The photo on the page is much more than a memory for me. It's a marker for what I am capable of when tested and one of the few moments I am unconditionally proud of myself for.

Happy December!

Hi all! Danielle here. I cannot believe today is December 1st already!  I need to get a move on with my shopping! While I would love to make home made crafty gifts for everyone on my list that's just not possible. But what I can do is still add little handmade personal touches!  This year I decided to mass produce some tags to add to bags and wrapped gifts to jazz them up a bit ;)

Now, an easy peasy way to make a lot of tags is to use a digital stamp.  I used this Swirly Tag digital stamp. Admittedly, prior to this I did not really like digital stamps, just not my thing. But after making these tags I am singing a different tune!

This tag is prettier than anything you'll find in a store and it took almost no time to make! I filled a full sheet of paper with the tag image, printed and cut them out and then just used some washi and scraps of ribbon and twine I had stashed!  To really make this shine I added my favorite flair, Linen Polka Dot Flair. I know, I use this on everything you're probably sick of seeing it, but it's so versatile!!
