Hi Everyone, I'm so pleased to be posting here again and showing you what I have created using some of the travel themed Flair. This layout was inspired by the "See The World" button and it just went from there, it's funny how one little product can spark a creative idea.
We took our two son's on their first overseas holiday last year to Singapore and I snapped the photo in the layout, of my youngest son Vaughn, while he was taking in all the sights on an open topped double decker bus. I wanted to do a layout and incorporate some journaling expressing my wish for him to travel to every corner of the world throughout his life and explore all that it has to offer. The journaling is hidden in the little notepaper slip, but I have photographed it for you to read below.
Here is what I came up with...
Thanks so much for stopping by, please head on over to my blog The Adventures of Us if you would like to check out some of my other Flair creations as well as heaps more.
And don't forget to head to {A Flair For Buttons}'s Etsy shop and start creating with Flair too!!!

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to attend a church camp for girls. I was asked to go as a crafts expert and work in the "Craft Shack". I knew I might have a little bit of extra time while I was there, so I packed myself a SMASHing kit, including several pieces of flair from the {a flair for buttons} shop.
This is my title page, featuring one of the flair from the Girl Flair set. The silhouette of a girl and the woodgrain were the perfect match for the theme of this book.
I used another piece from the same set for this page. I loved this view of a small stream near the campsite and the woodgrain heart flair was the perfect embellishment.
I also brought along the Linen Chevron flair. It made the perfect accent for my glassine "pocket" bag.
If you're in the market for specifically camp-themed flair, check the shop here, here and here. Shelley's got fabulous designs for your camping trip, too! Thanks for checking out my camp SMASH book and have a great day! Tessa

Hi there! Jennifer here today - and (among other things) right now I am really obsessed with stars on my scrapbook pages. When Shelley came out with this Sherbet Stars flair set I knew I had to have it.
I added some star flair to this bright and happy layout about my friend's son. He is really cooperative at looking at the camera....something that my daughter has learned to evade long ago! ;)

Hey friends! Danielle here with a VERY simple card. Sometimes I just sit and stare at my flair because it's really so lovely all on it's own. I decided to just let one piece of flair shine for this card.
Not only does it highlight the button, but it's super simple to make ;)
I love all the pieces in the Home Sweet Home set. Super cute and so versatile!
Hope you're all having a great week :)

Hello from Brooklyn!
A quick post to share a page I made using Echo Park's "This and That" Handsome collection.
This page is about a recent scrap related teaching experience. One of my students was upset about mistakes she made while following my direction.
I froze in self doubt and negative thoughts instead of tellign her what I tell myself when I mess things up- embellish it and move on.
I tend to be a messy scrapper who works through mistakes because I consider the learning process as important as the final product. If something really bugs me I redo the project when the problems with the design become clear later on.
I understand many others don't work that way but in this instance it was better to push through and focus on the proces.
Another student made the very same mistake in her project but instead of insisting on new materials so she could start all over again she simply covered up her mistake and moved onto th next step.
Her project ended up being the one everyone loved most. The creative play and flexibility her project displayed was by far more interesting than the paint by numbers projects everyone else made.
So what's my final "take away" from the experience?
- Don't fixate on your mistakes. (in teaching OR scrapping!)
- Don't let negative thoughts freeze creative problem solving. (The "tricks" you pull to make a project come back from the dead might be what makes a project great.)
- Teaching is a two way learning process- the best experiences are a dialogue.
Hope you're having a great Monday!
Michelle

I have another Flair layout to share with you today :) I did this page a few nights ago because I wanted to scrap one of our family photos from last fall. (photo by Mississippi Pearl Photography). Here I've used a piece of the Word Flair set - one of my faves!
The heart is from the Noted Flair set.
And one of my new faves - Linen Chevron flair. The silhouette cut is from the Pieces of Me workshop at 2Peas.
