I have been a bad blogger lately but life has just gotten too busy to post. I am working on getting the video posted from last weekend's Special Olympic Track and Field event that Jordan participated in. Busy week at home and work and today I took Jordan to Mt.Vernon for another Special Olympic event. While he attended that I went looking!! One of my favorite places there is Polly Ann's Antiques!! Here are a few of my pics from there!
This is an awesome store, reasonably priced, and she has killer soy candles there!! French Laundry is my favorite!! Polly also tuned me onto a new place called The Junk Asylum! Ok....I feel a road trip in my very near future!! I also hope to get to one of my most favorite places Cross Creek Antiques. I have filled my home with so many photos taken there! I love everything about this place! There are items outside and inside and I really appreciate how she puts things together! Very inspirational! In fact, I won a second place overall winner at last year's Staff Art Show at the University of Iowa Hospital with a photo I had taken at Cross Creek! I hope I can get to some of these places this week and weekend! Have a great rest of the weekend!!!!

If you have ever watched "American Pickers" on the History Channel you know that this is their home base in Le Claire, Iowa. My youngest son had a track meet in the Quad Cities so my older son and my parents (also fans of the show) made a 1 hour pilgrimage to their store"Antique Archeology" . They were not open but we did take some photos while were there! I would love to go back some time as we saw several antique and specialty stores there that I would love to investigate!!

My girlfriends and I discovered this monthly event last year when we were visiting the St. Charles/Geneva, Illinois area! The Kane County Flea Market is just incredible!! Last time I was there I got this old frame converted to a chalkboard for $20!
