Hey, friends! Missy back with you today, and I have a fun travel layout to share. I used flair from the Hello Life, Black Marquee Lights and Summer Gold sets. One of my favorite places to go is Las Vegas. I love the hotels, the sights, the food...it's just a fun place! I decided to scrap these two photos of the Strip. I was drawn to the pretty blue sky in the top picture, so I created a watercolor background to match. I pulled out very old Lily Bee patterned paper for my background and covered a lot of it with white acrylic paint. I used some watercolors and Shimmerz Paints in a few blue shades and a sparkly gold color. I also used some gold Color Shine. These three flair were the perfect embellishments for this page! I went minimal on embellishments since there is so much to look at in the photos themselves. I used a few gold stickers from a MAMBI sticker book, some washi tape, a few Tim Holtz word stickers, and some green cardstock circles that I painted with watercolor.
I was inspired by this green flair button to add more green to my layout. I painted a few punched white cardstock circles with watercolor and added in some matching green thread in a few places. I also used a lot of shiny gold thread. I cut "vegas" on a yellow Lily Bee patterned paper and then smudged some Heidi Swapp gold texture paste over it. You gotta have some shiny gold on a layout about Vegas!
I added more sparkly gold with these Thickers. This marquee LOVE flair is so perfect! The big letters and gold "lights" remind me of all the Vegas hotel lights! I used more gold thread and a few cut apart labels from Evalicious. I did some machine stitching and added more MAMBI gold stickers. I love how all of these neutral colors look against that pretty bright blue.
I have been hoarding these metallic gold flair! I decided to use this airplane one. I love how the shiny reminds me of the bright lights of Vegas. I also added a bit of cheesecloth behind my photos. It has been sitting on my desk for forever, so I decided to use it. I layered my title right on top of my photo since the bottom photo is flat. I added foam under the top one to add dimension.
Here's a close up of the background and title area. I love how the watercolor looks on top of the white acrylic paint. It gives a different feel and look than the gesso. I like to change things up every once in a whilte :)
Here's one final close up of the top area. I used some washi tape, a few torn pieces of some MAMBI Project Life cards and some Tim Holtz word stickers. I topped it off with some green, gold and black stitching.
Here are the flair sets I used:
I hope this inspires you to be inspired by your flair and create an awesome project! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
