Hello!
Today I want to share the 4 Project Life pages I've made this year.
That's right FOUR.
I take the photos.
I print the photos (which takes FOR . EV. ER).
I cut the photos out of their 8x11 prison...
And that's as far as I seem to go.
Building the actual pages gets complicated.
I keep saying "I'll do it tommorow."
Why would I undertake something I don't seem to enjoy?
Because I LOVE Project Life spreads once they are finished!
All those little pockets each with their own memory, photo or idea?
SO cute!
And Project Life helps with my story telling.
I find myself shooting everyday scenes I normally would let pass and those are always the photos I love most.
Here's what I have so far:
I'm using several different pocket page designs- my favorite is the 4x6 with 2x3 middle pockets. I have lots of space for embellishing in the larger pockets and smaller ones are great for layering items together- no deeper meaning needed. Since the goal is to actually get the pockets full or to write journaling that's meaningful, I've decided to let go of dates unless I happen to write it into my calendar- a rare thing.
So far, I've made two pages in March and two in April. I promised myself that there would be no looking back- no "redoing" pages I think could be "better". No trying to make pages for months I missed. I only have 8 pages for 2012. I asked myself why did I give up? The answer was simple. I kept thinking I needed to "catch up" and the presure got too great. That comes to an end NOW. Forward momentum only. This project is too big for second guessing. Just like Life, right?
Another thing I'm struggling with- shooting pages made with with older inserts. I hate the look of cloudy or scratched up page protectors. This is my primary problem with scrapbooks in general and the reason I put my pages in BOXES. I don't have to treat my finished scrapbook pages like they are some ancient relic that can only be handled with gloves.
This is actually the first page I made this year and the most successful one in my opinion. I show it last because it has no flair. The jar I keep my flair in was missing! My daughter likes to dump the buttons out and play with the star and arrow designs. That's ok with me- she's pretty gentle but it means the jar (and contents) travel all over my apartment.
I used the following products in these pages:
Arrows Set 1
Arrows Set 2
My Life Flair set 1
Barcode Flair
If you have any advice for speeding up the organization or item choosing process for Project Life please comment away.
Thanks for stopping by!
Michelle
